Issue/Introduction

During policy server upgrade from 12.8.5 to 12.8.6a, the installer is stuck on message 'Please wait, Policy server is being configured on your system' page.

This happens right after choosing the JDK path.

Environment

Release : 12.8.06a

Cause

Have verified all system environment variables are set correctly, or any item related to SiteMinder NETE variables.

Policy serve installer either can not find AdoptOpenJDK path for some reason, or locate the executable, etc, but no specific error was given.

Re-installed AdoptOpenJDK did not help.

However, if switch to Oracle JDK, then the installer works fine.

Resolution

Under system environment variables, there are two custom power shell scripts (duplicated) variables defined.

Not exactly sure why power shell scripts is needed on this windows system, but it appears that it affects AdoptOpenJDK.

Removing one of the duplicate power shell scripts variable resolved the issue.
