Issue/Introduction

The New Time Period filter in Timesheets screen does not allow you to search for a time period using expected format. In 16.1.1 added a time period filter that is mandatory  that is by default set to current.

If an user want to look at a specific time period search doesn't work for it using the expected format.  You can see below a list of time periods show as DD/MM/YY | DD/MM/YY format. If its search for 16/01/23  no results found is shown. however if the search for 2023-01-16  it fetches the record.  This makes the use of the filter difficult to use.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Login to clarity mux
  2. Navigate to Timesheet workspace --> Timesheet Grid
  3. Use Time period as filter to search

Expected Results: The search should be able to search on the format seen in the output

Actual Results: You can see below a list of time periods show as DD/MM/YY | DD/MM/YY format.  If I search for 2023-01-16 I get the time period returned.  This makes the use of the filter difficult to use

Resolution

Following an in-depth assessment of DE68758, it was concluded that the fix is too complex and resource intensive to implement at this time, as it requires a code change. Accordingly, a user story has been created and scheduled for prioritization in a future release.

Workaround:

Introduce Time Period in the looup drop down. i.e. From Clarity Studio > Lookups > Open the concerned List of Time Periods lookup (Lookup ID: SCH_BROWSE_TIMEPERIOD) > Auto-suggest tab > Add Time Periods

Adding the additional field will lead to less confusion and users can type and filter for Time Period field values

Alternate workaround would be to use Time Period Start Date and Time Period End Date fields as filters. e.g.
