Issue/Introduction

Error in Registering CCS Agent: ESM_REG_23916, Manager is running an older version of ESM UNIX and Windows version 12.6.1

We are facing some issue while registering the CCS Agent version 12.6.1 with CCS Manager on Windows and Linux servers.

Environment

Release : CCS Infra Release 12.6.1

Cause

esmmanger.exe has been replaced with an  older version

Resolution

The esmmanger.exe was replaced with a 12.5.x version so the ESM Console could be used since ESM is EOL and an ESM Console does not exist for 12.6.

This caused any 12.6 agents to not register as the esmmanager.exe is an older version.

Restore the esmmanager.exe to the 12.6 version and registration will work again.

 

Additional information:

Generally the esmmanager.exe location is in the w12s-ix64 folder. 

Default path : \Program Files (x86)\Symantec\CCS\Reporting and Analytics\ESM\bin\w12s-ix64

If you want to know for sure which folder is being used is to look at the service.
