Time Slicing job stuck waiting for lock on prcalendar table

Issue/Introduction

We notice in Administration -> Time Slices page that there are some slices getting updated. However, the Time Slicing job gets stuck after the first few slices. It shows processing, but the record count does not get reduced when monitored through a query.

Cause

Update queries sent by the Time Slicing job waiting for a lock on the PRCALENDAR table.

Resolution

Engage a DBA. Get details of the sessions holding lock on the PRCALENDAR table. Take action from the UI or from the DB to make the table available for updates, for the Time Slicing job.
