Issue/Introduction
Is it possible to email the results of a generated report ?
Environment
CA Client Automation - All Versions
Resolution
Open the DSM Reporter.
Choose the desired report from Report Templates. Right click the report and select 'Schedule report'.
Go to the 'Scheduling' tab and click on 'Set Scheduling' and configure the report as desired. Click OK.
Go to the 'Publishing' tab and click on 'Set Publishing'.
In the General tab, enable the option 'Enable email notification'. Fill out the email address and enable the option 'Include Link to exported file'
Go to the 'Export' tab and select 'HTML File' under 'Export Type' using the drop down list.
Click on Properties and ensure that the Enable filter and Auto Format are checked. Click OK.
In the report properties window go to the Engine tab, and link the task to the 'SystemEngine' using the drop down list. Click OK.
*** Note: This report will be automatically scheduled and the link to this report will be emailed to the email address specified.
Use comma ',' for multiple email addresses. ****
***Important: For the above configuration to work ensure that the SMTP policy has been configured. ***
SMTP Policy Configuration
In the DSM Explorer drill down to Control Panel->Configuration->Configuration Policy->Default Computer Policy->DSM->Manager->Integration to emailing system->smtp. Configure the policy in the right pane and seal the policy.
***Note: Please make sure that you have a working SMTP server which is set up on port 25 (default SMTP port).
