Installing SDC with TrapX Multiple instance on a Single Server

Issue/Introduction

We need to install Trapx for trap receiving on multiple ports, as some devices are sending traps on non standard 162 port. 

Please point to documentation on configuring the TRAPX on a single server listening on multiple different ports like 10162, 1162, 9162 etc., 

 

Environment

Release : 22.2.x / 21.2.x

Cause

TrapX by default will only listen on the default trap port of 162

Resolution

From the docs you can create multiple instances of SDC (and TrapX) on a single server.

You can monitor multiple trap ports this way by having a new SDC / TrapX instance for each port you want to monitor for traps.

 

 

Additional Information

This will work unless you are forwarding the traps through the SDC as mentioned here.
