Issue/Introduction

Controlling DB2 resources like tables & its level of access.
Primary DB2 groups are full -  max size of those group is 493 entries per record. ENTRY SGP records.
How can size of those groups increase to more than 500 users?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Resolution

A REXX is used to view the E(SGP) records - not using the ACF2 utility programs to view the records in storage therefore groups cannot be used.

Solution is to use X(ROL) records to define the groups instead of E(SGP).
With 32k databases. it is required to turn on XREFLONG in the GSO RULEOPTS record  to use all 32k of the XREF record.

Testing has shown that an XREF(SGP) record with a 16k database can have 1500 entries and be only 84% full.
