Issue/Introduction

You may see a replacement disk fail after it's installed.  This is extremely rare but it does happen.  The new drive will need to be replaced.  It may also quarantine a virtual disk preventing the reconstruction of the bytes to happen. The steps to de-quarantine are simple and there is no impact on data on the disks.

Resolution

Log in to the storage Web UI.  Select Pools > Action and then select "Dequarantine Disk Group". This will allow the reconstruction of the data back to the new drive to proceed.  The reconstruction requires 6 to 18 hours.
