Issue/Introduction

We are seeing a regular PII scan taking very long time to complete. 7 hours to scan 500 tables for 50 rows is not acceptable.

Resolution

Engineering has provided a fix for the PII Scanning performance in TDMWeb-4.10.170.0. 

You will need to make a modification to the application.properties file, before restarting the CA Test Data Manager Portal Service.
Look in the application.properties file for the new tdmweb.profiling.sampler.usedborder property and change its default value ("false") to "true".
After restarting the service, the scanning will use simpler queries for sampling the tables.
