Issue/Introduction

PREP_PROCESS_FILE a large file with one very long line in it, the agent crashes.In 12.3 it produces a mini dump, in V21.0 it just crashes.

The Agent cannot be started after this.The Task cannot be canceled.

You have to delete the large file, then cancel the task to be able to restart the agent.

Observe a Report that is partly transmitted, a hanging task and an Agent crashing with access violation on every start.

Release : 21.0

Resolution

The agent's crash is identified as a bug and will be fixed in a future service pack.

ERROR HANDLING:

Before restarting the agent, cancel the task (the REPORT and then the SCRI) in the "Process Monitoring"  perspective.

Note that the status "Generating" and "Transferring" will not change in the view until the Agent is restarted.
Restart the agent via the Service Manager now.
Refresh the view in the "Process Monitoring" perspective.
