Transfers are failing with message:
#XCOMU0298E Unable to allocate remote transaction program: Txpi 211: Socket connect error return value = 78
We are able to ping and telnet to port 8044 without any problems. The problem started to happen after the OS was patched and clustering was introduced in the environment.
Release : 11.6
Component: XCOM Data Transport for Linux
In this scenario, Linux clustering was introduced in their environment and their network was using the incorrect IP address.
RV= 78 indicates that the connection has timed out waiting for response from the partner system.
It was noticed in this environment and after introducing clustering that their environment was not using the correct IP address for the cluster. Changes the the routing tables and firewalls had to be made by the network team to correct the problem.
