Issue/Introduction

If the Scheduler is down, is it possible to start a job manually using the sendevent command?

Environment

Release : 11.3.6/12.0/12.1

Resolution

You would not be able to start a job without the scheduler running. When you issue a STARTJOB or FORCE_STARTJOB event from the sendevent command, that is just posting the event to the database. The scheduler must be up to process it and send the job to the agent.
