WA agent silent install with compatibility mode for new Windows OS

Issue/Introduction

The WA agent versions setup/installer may not properly install in new Windows OS (e.g. R12 Agent on Windows 2022).

The setup can be executed if the compatibility is set to older OS like Windows 8 (see screenshot).  However, this may not work if the agent is being installed in silent mode.  How can user install the agent in silent mode?

Cause

The setup cannot execute in new Windows OS.  Compatibility mode has to be set with manually or via command line.

Resolution

The WA Agent R12 and 12.1 are fully supported on Windows 2022.  The setup for agent needs to run in compatibility mode because of Windows changes.  

 

For command line install, export environment variable "set __COMPAT_LAYER=WIN8RTM".  The environment variable can be export as part of batch file which will run WA Agent setup.exe
