Issue/Introduction

Need to create a 'Project Team Member' permissions group which enables users to do the following: 

  • Have visibility of the projects they are staffed / booked to only
  • Have access to edit project risks and issues for these projects
  • Have view access to the project details page for these projects

Please can you kindly advise which global permissions need to be added?

Resolution

For this security access use case raised here there are two suggestions provided:

  • Global Rights 

If you would like to have team members to get the capability of being able to view/update risks, issues and change requests that belong to the projects they have access to then the the following Risk, Issue, and Change related global rights are to be assigned to the project team members. 

Project - Risk, Issue, Change Request - Create
Project - Risk, Issue, Change Request - Delete - All
Project - Risk, Issue, Change Request - Edit - All
Project - Risk, Issue, Change Request - View - All

  • Staffing Auto access rights - Using modern UX to assign staff members.
    There are few places where the staff access rights are automatically granted in 15.9 and above, example the staff tab, conversations module details fly-out. When a project manager adds staff members from the Conversations page using the STAFF panel or from the Tasks Board or List view, the following access rights are automatically assigned to the staff members:

Projects - Navigate (Global)
Project - View Tasks (Instance)
Project - Task Management (Instance)
This right allows team members to add, edit, and delete task assignments.
Status Report - View - All (Global)
