INV-0016 when entering Planned/Budgeted Cost after deleting Cost Plan

Issue/Introduction

On a project with the Set Planned Cost Dates attribute checked, creating and deleting a Cost Plan makes the attribute to be unchecked.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new project.
2. Financially enable the project, and ensure that "Set Planned Cost Dates" is checked. Planned Dates match with Investment dates.
3. Create a new plan for this year.

Actual Results:

• "Set Planned Cost Dates" is now read-only and unchecked.
• Planned Dates match the Cost Plan dates.

 

4. Delete the plan.

Actual Results:

• "Set Planned Cost Dates" is now editable again, and remains unchecked.
• Planned Dates are empty.

 

Now, when trying to edit Planned Cost, an error will be displayed: INV-0016: Missing Planned Cost Start or Planned Cost Finish date

Resolution

This is working as designed.

After removing the Cost Plan, it resets the fields and you can then enter the data. For the manual update, the dates must be filled in before you set the cost amounts so that it knows how to spread the amount.
