Unable to delete Management Center archived log files

Issue/Introduction

With few exceptions, rotated log file can be deleted by navigating Management Center UI > Administration > Logs > Archived Tab.  

Selecting batch of archived rotated log files for deletion is also possible by pressing CTRL key from keyboard and selecting list of logs. 

Environment

Management Center version 3.3.x and 4.1.x above

Cause

Management Center Administrator should be able to delete all of rotated log files except the following:

pcap_error
clp_services*
usage*.log   (usage_<year_month>.log)
user_syslog*

Notes:

-  The Delete button will be grayed out ( disabled) in following scenario

• Nothing is selected
• one or more logs that can not be deleted were included from the selection

- Any logs under Management Center UI > Administration > Logs > Active tab can not be deleted.

Resolution

Deselect the following from the selection of files to be deleted. 

pcap_error
clp_services.log.<timestamp>.log.gz
usage.<timestamp>.log
user_syslog.log.<timestamp>.log.gz
