Unable to delete logs Management Center

Issue/Introduction

With few exceptions, rotated log file can be deleted by navigating Management Center UI > Administration > Logs > Archived Tab.  

Selecting batch of rotated files to be deleted is also possible using CTRL key and selecting list of logs. 

 

Environment

Management Center version 3.3.x and above

Cause

Management Center Administrator should be able to delete most of rotated logs except the following

pcap_error
CLP services
Usage Logs
User_syslog

Notes:

- If a log cannot be deleted, the Delete button is disabled.

- Delete button may also be disabled if batch of logs include a log that that cannot be deleted.

- Any logs under Management Center UI > Administration > Logs > Active tab can not be deleted.

Resolution

Deselect the following from the selection of files to be deleted. 

pcap_error
clp_services.log.<timestamp>.log.gz
usage.<timestamp>.log
user_syslog.log.<timestamp>.log.gz
