Issue/Introduction

Current Sharepoint agent Version = 12.52, Build = 2504, Update = 1.8 (12.52 SP1 CR08)
Policy server is recently updated to 12.8.06 build 2649 on Windows.

1. Will the current SharePoint version (Sharepoint agent Version = 12.52, Build = 2504, Update = 1.8) be the correct version to use with 12.8.06 build 2649 policy server?
2. Is there an EOL of this old 12.52 SharePoint version?
3. Can Sharepoint agent 12.8.07 be used with 12.8.06 version policy server?

Release : 12.8.06

Resolution

1. Will the current SharePoint version (Sharepoint agent Version = 12.52, Build = 2504, Update = 1.8) be the correct version to use with 12.8.06 build 2649 policy server?

Yes. The installation prerequisites states "if the Agent for SharePoint version is 12.52 SP1 CR06, use 12.52 SP1 CR06 or above version of Policy Server and Administrative UI."

2. Is there an EOL of this old 12.52 SharePoint version?

No EOS date yet for 12.52 SP1 SP Agent as of Feb 2023.

3. Can Sharepoint agent 12.8.07 be used with 12.8.06 version policy server?

No. The 12.8.07 Sharepoint agent installation prerequisites require 12.8.07 version policy server.

Additional Information

After unzipping installation binary, there are two files ca-spagent-12.52-sp01-cr08-win32 & ca-spclaims-12.52-sp01-cr08-win64.

ca-spagent-12.52-sp01-cr08-win32 //This is the Agent for SharePoint

ca-spclaims-12.52-sp01-cr08-win64 //This is the Claims provider for SharePoint central administration server.

In addition, PSM specify which version of Microsoft SharePoint server is supported by a particular SiteMinder Agent for SharePoint.

Please be sure to use a compatible version of SharePoint agent.

1. SiteMinder Agent for SharePoint r12.52 supports:
a. SharePoint 2010 Foundation, Server and Enterprise editions.
b. SharePoint 2013 Foundation, Server and Enterprise editions.
c. SharePoint 2016 Foundation, Server and Enterprise editions (Supported from 12.52 SP1 CR7 onwards).
d. SharePoint 2019 edition (Supported from 12.52 SP1 CR 10 onwards)
