Issue/Introduction

 

When planning to upgrade the Siteminder Databases for Policy Store, Key Store, and Session Store from Oracle 11.2 to PostGres 13, what would be one of the best ways to lead that?

 

Resolution

 

At first glance, the Parallel upgrade path might be the most adequate for this, as it requires installing new software from another vendor (1)(2)(3).

That way, initialize the Policy, Key, and Session Stores in Postgres 13. Then export the Policy Store data from Oracle 11.2 using the Policy Server tool (XPSExport and XPSImport) to the new Policy Store in PostGres 13 (4)(5).
