SQL connection object test using incorrect account | U02012064 Login failed for

Issue/Introduction

When putting in a user and password into a sql connection object's login information under Alternative User Name and Alternate Password and clicking the "test connection" button, an error shows up with a different user.  For example, if the user put into the connection object is domain/automic, an error shows like:

U02012064 Login failed for 'DOMAIN\otheruser'. ClientConnectionId:somestringoflettersandnumbers

Resolution

Be sure that a domain account (non-service) is used in the Log On As setting of the properties for the agent in the service manager dialog
