Issue/Introduction

We just installed an EMC/Dell DLm8500 Tape Library system.   

We are attempting to create a WORM tape, but running into an issue.  

The batch job mounts the correct VOLUME/Media,  but doesn't write on the Tape Volume.

Resolution

IEC518I SOFTWARE ERRSTAT: MEDIAMNT 04F6,,SL,T

Per IBM message manual:

MEDIAMNTMedia type does not match the type specified for the scratch volume mount request.

 

This doesn't look to be a TLMS config issue and the mount process comes from ACS/EMC.

The problem is the definition of the device type is Media4 instead of Media3 within EMC.
