Issue/Introduction

New installation of TLMS 14.0 with maintenance to apply.

The LU02187 should be applied before or after the installation of the CBRUXENT ?

CTSUXENT - CTSQSTS TO TAKE A VOLUME OUT OF DEL/OUTSRV STATUS
 
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Call CTSQSTS(TMSQSTS or TLMSQSTS) to take a volume out of either
DELETE status or OUT-OF-SERVICE when called from CTSUXENT(CBRUXENT).
 
Currently when a volume is entered in to a Robotic device, the
user must take a CA 1 volume out of Delete status and OUT-OF-SERVICE
for CA TLMS.
 
With this enhancment, the system programmer can remove a Branch
instruction from CTSUXENT to allow the exit to call CTSQSTS with
a new function to update the Tape Management catalog's.
 
 
SYMPTOMS:
Currently when a volume is entered in to a Robotic device, the
user must take a CA 1 volume out of Delete status and OUT-OF-SERVICE
for CA TLMS.

Resolution

For a new installation of TLMS 14.0 once the product has been have received,applied and accepted, then all maintenance available should be applied .

The TLMS – VTS IBM interface Usermods will be installed once the maintenance has been applied.

To install the IBM robot - TLMS interface you have 2 methods:

- either run CTSJUCBX and assemble and link the module directly into  SYS1.LINKLIB or
 - run CTSJUCBN to assemble and link them into CTAPLINK, and CTSJUCBR to rename the IBM versions in SYS1.LINKLIB. 

The usermods can be found in the CTAPJCL library of CA TLMS 14.0 and the sources of them can be found in the CTAPSAMP of ca tlms 14.0.

The ATLTABLE should be update in the CBRUXENT. When installed, the CBRUXENT exit provided with TLMS  will update VMF fields ATLTYP and ATLNUM to indicate the tape is in the ATL. By default a foreign tape cannot be entered into the ATL. If this is attempted, the tape will be left in "insert" status. This exit must be customized to specify the SMS name of each robot in an internal table for both 3494 ATL and 3494 VTS implementation.
