Issue/Introduction

Email Delivery failed with error "552.5.2.0 Remote MTA X.X.X.X :An URL Contained in this message is blocked by Spamhaus DBL are blocked at spamhaus database end.

Cause

a) Broadcom IP addresses :There could be instances where IP addresses are listed in Spamhaus database.

Please Note : Sometimes the IP addresses are shown as Blacklisted with information listed as below . The below information explains that the Blacklisting is just an informational purposes and will not result in blocking the mail flow.

b) URL in the Signature /Content in the message body :URL in the message body contains IP/domains that is listed in Spamhaus database.

c) Outdated DNLB database at the recipient domain end : Recipient domain must be using DBL listing which is outdated.

Resolution

a) Broadcom IP addresses : Please contact Broadcom ESS technical support team so that they can delist it from Spamhaus database.

b) URL in the Signature /Content in the message body: Review the email content for URLs and test by sending an email without any URLs for confirmation.

c) Outdated DNLB database at the recipient domain end: Contact recipient and get the Spamhaus database updated.
