Issue/Introduction

For disaster recovery preparation or for issue investigation it is sometimes neccessary to collect a backup of configuration data only from the Messaging Gateway (SMG) system.

Environment

Release : 10.8.0

Resolution

To collect a configuration backup:

  1. In the SMG Control Center to Administration > Version and click Backup Now
  2. Select Custom backup
  3. Select Configuration (includes policies) and uncheck all checkboxes
  4. Click Backup Now

Once the back up competes you will be able to download it from the Administration > Version > Restore / Download page:
