Issue/Introduction

CTSSYNC job running over 8 hours, performance needs to be improved.

Job is run weekly to sync CA1 TMC to IBM TS77xx VTL TCDB.

 

Environment

Release : 14.0

Cause

CTSSYNC is being run against entire production volser library (>200K tapes).

Resolution

Break up CTSSYNC into multiple jobs with unique volser ranges and run in parallel. 

Schedule CTSSYNC jobs when system is relatively quiet.

Use the EARLOUT DD from CTE3495 job as input to CTSSYNC, ensuring only eligible volumes are processed, not entire library.
