Issue/Introduction

IDMS programs which update the database in CV-mode must issue periodic COMMIT statements in order to prevent excessive locking and short-on-storage conditions (DC015007).

How to determine if programs are COMMITting?

Environment

Release : All supported releases.

Resolution

Run JREPORT 001 against the archive journals for the relevant time period. The output will display how many COMMITs each transaction issued.

Invalid output in IDMS-provided CULPRIT reports (e.g. ,ZZZ)
