Apply and implement the latest CCS PTF which includes the latest Feature Registration Service enhancements. The PTF is found here:
https://support.broadcom.com/download-center/solution-detail.html?aparNo=LU04487&os=z%2FOS
The title of the HOLD mentions Datacom/DB, but we have /AD. Is the CCS maintenance by any chance required only for /DB, and /AD does not use LU05844's enhancements? Or do we need to apply the CCS maintenance also in case we use Datacom/AD?
Release : 15.1
Component : Datacom/AD
Information about this new feature solution was posted on the CADRE community last summer. This solution allows more granular reporting of which Datacom features are installed and in use through the IBM Function Registry for z/OS and the SCRT Reporting capabilities. In the case of this solution, it applies equally to Datacom/AD and Datacom/DB, as much of the core functionality of Datacom/AD uses the same modules and processing as Datacom/DB.
In order to take advantage of this new, more-detailed capability, you must first ensure that your Common Components and Services maintenance is current for LU04487 or later.
As more products are being fitted with this sort of enhancement, it is in the best interest of our customers to apply this SCRT reporting enhancement, and this is our recommendation. If you install the CCS solution LU04487, this will make your Common Services environment ready for all the mainframe products using the enhanced SCRT reporting.
For Datacom/AD, installing LU05844 will allow for better SCRT reporting of the Datacom environment and components. However, the operation of the product will not be hampered if this is not applied at the moment.
As always, please contact Broadcom support for Datacom if you have further questions.
