Issue/Introduction

What are the escape characters for etautil command?

Release : 14.3, 14.4

Resolution

When there is a space and a single quote in the name you need to encase your single quotes with double quote and add an extra quote to the single quote in the name.

When we have eTCustomField10='First M'Last' we should change it to eTCustomField10="'First M''Last'"

You can also use ^ or \ as escape characters.

\ for example in JSON attribute values are updated in CA directory.
