Report Writer XPFRMAIN doesn't report anything after moving to a Z16

Issue/Introduction

XPFRMAIN doesn't give any output since running on z16 machines.

The report is:

 

TAB DATETIME TRAN USE HDR1(TRANCOUNT) HDR2(TOTAL) AND,
             TRAN LIFE HDR1(RESPTIME) HDR2(AVG) AND,
             TRAN LIFE MIN HDR1(RESPTIME) HDR2(MIN) AND,
             TRAN LIFE MAX HDR1(RESPTIME) HDR2(MAX) AND,
             TRAN CPU TOTAL HDR1(TASKCPU) HDR2(TOTAL)
 EACH MINUTE
 FROM -1 DAYS
END
RUN

 

When the report ran on an LPAR still on Z14 the following messages were issued and the report had the correct information:

 

   ERPT258I RECORDS READ BY REPORT WRITER :        2,890,634
   ERPT259I RECORDS WITHIN TO/FROM RANGE :            51,979

 

When the same report ran one day later on z16 the messages were:

   ERPT258I RECORDS READ BY REPORT WRITER :          878,609
   ERPT259I RECORDS WITHIN TO/FROM RANGE :                 0

 

In both cases, the dataset used in the TAPSMF DD is the same.

 

Environment

Release : 16.0

Resolution

The STEPLIB was pointing to an outdated loadlib at level 14.2 that did not contain the maintenance for z16 machines.

Update the STEPLIB to point to a current version with all the maintenance applied. The report was correct on z16 using the correct loadlib in STEPLIB.
