COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS DATABASE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR DB2 FOR Z/OS SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Working on CA Common Services PTFs update and using CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS.

The update requires a recycle of CA Common Services tasks, CAIRIM and CA Health Checker.

Is there any impact during the minor outage because of this recycle?

Environment

Common Services 15.0 - DB2 Tools 12.0 - z/OS supported releases -

Resolution

Xmanager (PTXMAN) and SYSVIEW for DB2 Data Collector started tasks work with Common Services.

These started tasks must be stopped and then restarted after CAS9 and CA Health Checker are cycled.

This is similar to the IPL, the first thing is to run CAS9, then CA Health Checker and all the commands then start PTXMAN and the SYSVIEW for DB2 Data Collector.
