dns_response probe fails with all UDP connections

Issue/Introduction

dsn_response probe 1.70 and 2.01 fail to connect via UDP. 

 While TCP tests run fine, all UDP connections fail.

 

UDP is their default Protocol for DNS tests and when upgrading the probe in their environment, it fails all tests.

Going back to v1.69 all is fine.

The error is reproducible in a lab environment when switching to from TCP to UDP. The netstat command on windows works with both protocol types.

Environment

• DX UIM 23.4.*
• dns_response affecgted versions: 170,1.70T1, 2.01 

Cause

dns_response probe defect affecting different versions

Resolution

Resolved by the dns_response-1.70-T3.zip which is attached to this KB Article.

 

NOTE:

The fix present in this article is not included in dns_response 2.01 GA version. It will be included in dns_response new GA version that will be released in January 2026.
