dns_response probe 1.70T1 fails with all UDP connections

Issue/Introduction

Customer deployed the fixed 1.70T1 version of the probe and found that still all his tests fail. While TCP tests run fine, all UDP connections on the customer site fail.

UDP is their default Protocol for DNS tests and when upgrading the probe in their environment, it fails all tests.

Going back to v1.69 all is fine.

The error is reproducible in a lab environment when switching to from TCP to UDP. The netstat command on windows works with both protocol types.

Cause

• dns_response probe defect

Resolution

Resolved by the dns_response-1.70-T3.zip which is attached to this KB Article.
As of 24 July 2024 the GA build has not been released yet, there is no eta for release at this time, but in the meantime, you can certainly use the dns_response-1.70-T3 version.
