Issue/Introduction

Installed Zowe server 2.4.0.

Started the ZOWE task ZWESLSTC and also tried to start ZOWE from USS. The task started, up and running however with some error, but it also fills up the SMF data double or triple than the normal size.

There were more SMF data from TYPE 92, Subtype 14, 16 and 17. is this normal ?

Resolution

More SMF data from TYPE 92 is caused by active shell script executions called by the Zowe Launcher, exact SMF data numbers are depending on Zowe configuration.

For zowe 2.4.0, customer can expect

• Up to 20k of SMF records TYPE 30
• 17k - 30k of SMF records TYPE 92, Subtype 14, 16 and 17
