Issue/Introduction

You may come across the following warning message for the DSA where the DSA is still online but there is no access to it as it may cause none to connect to the host (at Operating System level) to figure out what is happening. The only way you can see this message is via remote machine where you can share a network drive and review the unreachable nodes Directory logs.

e.g.
[16] 20221224.000200.009 WARN : comms_connect: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. (0x2747)
[16] 20221224.000300.014 WARN : comms_connect: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. (0x2747)
[16] 20221224.000400.003 WARN : comms_connect: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. (0x2747)

Environment

Release : 14.1

Resolution

The mentioned warning message can most commonly occurs when there is a problem at Operating System or network level which you should investigate further with help from your Windows/Linux Systems administrators team or with your network team.

This is not related to Symantec Directory product. Basically when this happens, the effected DSA is not able to communicate to it's MW peer DSAs. The solution is to reboot the node/host which will release the buffer space or whatever sockets are in use and things will go back to normal as DSA will get required resources upon a fresh restart of the OS.
