What are the PFKEY and PAKEY settings with Roscoe?
On page 11-2 of the Roscoe r6 User Guide, there is a chart showing the default the PF and PA key assignments provided with Roscoe. A PF or PA key can have a maximum of four unique assignments. The assignment it performs depends on the type of data currently attached - AWS, DSN, JOB or LIB. Further on in section 11.2, use of the keys is explained in detail.
During installation you may use MRO6019 - PFUSETAB to modify these definitions system wide.
Individual users can customize their signon procs to override the default Roscoe key settings or define commands: For example:
LET PF1='SPLIT'
LET PF2='SWAP'
LET PF3='END'
LET LIB.PF9='BOTTOM'
LET AWS.PF9=' a j '
The PFKEYS RPF which is distributed with the installation and usually downloaded with each maintenance level can be used to view the current PFKEY settings. To display your current key setting enter: ro.pfkeys
