CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)

While using Network Flow Analysis and trying to import NBAR mapping rules into Application Definitons you may run into this error:

The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

The log file will not provide much more detail:

All versions of NFA

The RACMD application is failing to connect to the ApplicationDefintionWS.asmx web service.

1. Make sure you have an IIS binding for *:80 (http). In 22.2.4+ this is optional and may be removed for security reasons. Temporarily add it back to allow the import to complete, then remove it again.

2. If the port 80 http binding already exists, there is likely an issue with the physical path. Try to access the Web Service from a local browser to view a detailed error:

Note the physical path. There is likely an issue with it.

To edit the physical path go to IIS:

Expand your server > Sites > Default Web Site > RA > Authorization.

With authorization selected, click "Basic Settings" and set the physical path to the proper NetQoS.ReporterAnalyzer.AuthorizationWebservices directory.
