Importing and Exporting Policies Manually in SEPM 14.x

Issue/Introduction

You want to import or export a customized or copied policy from one SEPM to another.

Environment

SEPM 14.x

Resolution

Export a Policy

  1. Log into your SEPM
  2. Click on Policies
  3. Choose the policy type you want to export
  4. In the Name, Description, and Location Use Count fields, right-click the specific policy in the list.
  5. Choose Export

   6. Save the policy. Policy export will be saved as a .dat file.

 

Import a Policy (note: the exported policy .dat file must be accessible to the destination SEPM)

  1. Log into your SEPM
  2. Click again on Policies
  3. Now select the policy type you want to import
  4. In the Name, Description, and Location Use Count fields, right-click in the empty space within the policy list.
  5. Choose Import

    6. Select the exported policy (.dat file) to be Imported here
