Issue/Introduction

Following the update to Messaging Gateway (SMG) 10.8.0-7, the SMG system begins generating daily alerts indicating that the man-db.cron process is failing with a gdbm fatal malloc error:

Environment

Release : 10.8.0

Cause

The man page database is corrupted and needs to be recreated. 

Resolution

This issue does not affect SMG operation or performance in any way and is merely an annoyance.

To resolve this issue and stop the alerts from the cron daemon, please contact Broadcom Support for assistance.
