Issue/Introduction

If you want or need to revert to a previously saved configuration backup, you can restore the backup file. The filename has a .bin extension and includes the software version. build number, and a designation of the type of backup (full, policy, pki, or platform). For example, a backup file of the policy configuration in v4.3.1.1 would have a name similar to the following example:

policy-4.3.1.1-219692.20180625T145923.bin

Resolution

When restoring a backup, you need to select the appropriate type of backup file. For example, if you backed up policy settings, you need to select Policy only when restoring the backup file.

To restore a backed up configuration:

  1. Locate the backup file you want to restore.
  2. From the ( Platform Management ) menu, select Backup/Restore.
  3. Click the Restore Tab.
  4. Select the type of backup you are restoring: Full Backup, Policy only, PKI only, or Platform only.
  5. Click Choose File, navigate to the backup file, and click Open.
  6. Enter the Password you defined when creating the backup.
  7. Click OK. The progress bar displays a percentage as the file is being restored.
