If the SARPAC job is to be stopped, while it is running, how can this be done in a safe way?
To stop a running SARPAC job you will have to issue the z/OS STOP command (e.g. /P SARPAC). This will cause the SARPAC job to terminate normally. SARPAC will acknowledge the termination with message:
SARPAC99 Operator issued STOP command - PROCESSING TERMINATED
Should the z/OS STOP command not be acknowledged, and the message IEE342I REJECTED-TASK BUSY is displayed, then the SARPAC job will have to be cancelled.
If the SARPAC job is cancelled, any output tapes it creates should be excluded from a scratch-and-clean run because VIEW still controls those tapes. Please refer to the VIEW Reference documentation SARPAC
