Examples in the ACF2 documentation for the use of the GENCERT, GENREQ, and CHKCERT commands do not show an ACF command mode being set. Why don't these commands require the SET PROFILE(USER) DIV(CERTDATA) command first?
The SET subcommand identifies the record format to the ACF command processor. The GENCERT, GENREQ, and CHKCERT commands apply only to digital certificates. They do not relate to any other kind of ACF2 database record so the set is not required for these commands.
The SET PROFILE(USER) DIV(CERTDATA) command is required prior to an INSERT or DELETE command for a CERTDATA record because INSERT and DELETE commands are not specific to a particular database or type of record - but it is NOT required for GENCERT, GENREQ, or CHKCERT commands.
