Issue/Introduction

Links are broken on the Symantec Management Agent Download Page and an error is displayed:

 

Environment

Release: 8.5

Cause

Inheritance was not enabled on the NSCap folder and so we could not read the web.config file for the NSCap folder to access the installer EXE located in a subfolder. 

 

Resolution

In this case, we enabled inheritance on the NSCap folder with the option selected to Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object.

The NSCap folder is located in the Altiris installation directory - in a default installation to the C: drive, this location is C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap
