Issue/Introduction

How can I create trend reports and graphs for objects, such as for the 'Storage Groups' objects?

Environment

Release : 14.1

Resolution

A timeline (graph) of an object (such as POOLS) can be accomplished by defining trend logging for the object (in MTC-M, select the 'Relations' toolbar icon, then select 'Automation Scripts', then select 'Create Log Script').  After  trend log data is captured on the host with the running of the logging script, the trend data can be viewed via the same object, but by selecting the LOG mode in the 'VIEW TYPE (DATA)' dropdown list for the object (this control is reached via the 'Object Settings' toolbar icon in the MTC-M) . This will cause the logged data to be pulled into the object for viewing (such as for displaying graphs).  At present, automated reporting of trend log data (such as sending out emails) is not possible using the MTC-M, but is planned as a future enhancement.  The Windows Client already has the automated reporting facility available via the Scheduler.
