Unable to install Endpoint Protection on Ubuntu 16.04

Issue/Introduction

Installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is failing on Ubuntu 16.04 with InRelease errors 

Ign http://ap-south-1.ec2.archive.untuntu.com/ubuntu xenial universe

Environment

SEP 14.3  RU4
AWS Ubuntu  16.04 VM

Cause

Environmental issue , Incorrect line in sources.lists

Resolution

Comment the line : deb http://ap-south-1.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial universe as follows:

1. Navigate to /etc/apt/  and open sources.list in vi
   
   
2.  Comment the line by adding(hash) at the start of the line  : # deb http://ap-south-1.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial universe
   
   
   
   3. Save the file post commenting the line.
   
   4. Run command :
   
   i) sudo rm -r /var/lib/apt/lists/*
   
   ii) sudo apt update
   
   iii) Re-run the SEP installer
