Issue/Introduction

When updating an existing Extract Procedure, how can the OBJECT SELECTION SUBSYSTEM field be updated?

Resolution

The OBJECT SELECTION SUBSYSTEM field can only be updated and saved when the Extract Procedure is being created.

Once an Extract Procedure definition has been saved, then it is not possible to update the OBJECT SELECTION SUBSYSTEM field.

If you need to update this field for existing Extract Procedures the recommended approach is to use the Copy option.

Using the Copy (c) option from the EXTRACT PROCEDURE SERVICES panel allows you to copy the Extract Procedure and specify the desired Object SSID (the SSID of objects for target procedure). This will allow you to achieve the update you require. If you wish to retain the original Extract Procedure name, then you will have to use the copy option to create a new Extract Procedure (with desired Object SSID), then delete the original Exract Procedure and then copy the new Extract Procedure back to the original name.
