Issue/Introduction

While reviewing the query log for a DSA, you may be wondering why do I see 'eis' and what it represents.

e.g.

[7] 20190203.205835.516 234.56898 SEARCH dn="ou=GI,ou=external,dc=mycompany,dc=com" scope=one-level eis=all
[3] 20190203.205835.540 1744.1011117 SEARCH dn="uid=######,ou=XYZ,ou=external,dc=mycompany,dc=com" scope=base-object eis=1

Resolution

eis stands for "entry information selection".

Basically, in a search filter, the entry information selection (EIS) is the attributes that are to be returned in the search results. This feature is enabled with you have following defined.

set query-log-advanced = all;
OR
set query-log-advanced = show-eis;

You most probably have the first one set.
