Issue/Introduction

Setting up the first Windows 11 workstation in the environment. After installing the Altiris agent it doesn't seem to be connecting to the Altiris server.

The following error descriptions are seen in the agent.log files:

Description: 
  Failed to remove Site Server SPN from DC, error: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted (0x0000054B)

Description: 
  Request 'HTTP://<SMPServerFQDN>/altiris/NS/Agent/CreateResource.aspx' failed, COM error: No such host is known (0x80072AF9)

Description: 
  Configure Server Mode: Failed to obtain the machine resource GUID, error: No such host is known (0x80072AF9)

Description: 
  Task Server Connection: Failed to request 'http://<SMPserverFQDN>/altiris/TaskManagement/CTAgent/PersistentSettings.aspx?operation=get&resourceGuid=<MachineGUID>&crc=00080006000010BE', error: No such host is known (0x80072AF9)

Description: 
  Task Server Connection: Failed to request NS 'http://<SMPserverFQDN>/altiris/TaskManagement/CTAgent/PersistentSettings.aspx', error: No such host is known (0x80072AF9)

Description: 
  No IPv4 addresses assigned - package will get no specific sources unless agent is manually assigned.

Description: 
  Download package sources failed: No such host is known (0x80072AF9)

Environment

ITMS 8.6

Cause

Windows 11 was not allowed yet on the network.

Resolution

After checking with the Network team it was found that Windows 11 is not permitted/allowed on the network.
