What are the recommendations on when a reassembly of TPX user exits should be considered?
Release: 5.4
Component: TPX for Z/OS
Applying TPX maintenance does not require reassembly of TPX user exits, necessarily.
However, the following recommendation should be considered as guidance for TPX user exit reassembly.
1- If there are changes to TPX macro(s) and/or Control block(s) in the maintenance stream, then reassembly of TPX user exits is required.
2- If there are changes to TPX User Exit API in the maintenance stream, then reassembly of TPX user exits is required.
3- If the Operating System Platform has been upgraded, then reassembly of TPX user exits is strongly recommended.
Look for the details in the HOLDDATA. In principal the HOLDDATA should have the appropriate details.
Additional considerations to reassemble TPX exit.
- TPX Enhancements or New Features/Functions or Upgrades to existing Features/Functions in the Continuous Delivery/Maintenance Stream
- Updates to TPX VSAM Files aka TPX VSAM DataBase in the Continuous Delivery/Maintenance Stream
- New TPX Release (includes review of exits for continuing feasibility)
