Error: "A certificate that can only be used as an end-entity is being used as a CA or vice versa (0x800B0103)"

Issue/Introduction

Endpoints cannot connect to Site Servers and Site Servers cannot connect to themselves. The following error appears in the agent logs:

"Could not access own HTTPS Web site 'https://ServerName.DomainName.com:443/Altiris/PS/ConnectionTest.html', HTTPS requests from clients can fail, error: A certificate that can only be used as an end-entity is being used as a CA or vice versa (0x800B0103)"

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

The Site Server certificate path was incorrect.

Resolution

The customer recreated the Site Server certificates with the corrected Certificate Path. This fixed all communication.
