Console only shows 10000 results when viewing a grid or report. Downloading the results only downloads the 10000 results in the grid

Issue/Introduction

Console only shows 10000 results, which limits the timeframe of data viewed to about a week. In the example reviewed, there were 53000+ events, but the later ones were not viewable in the console. The Download grid option also only downloads the 10000 viewable results.

Environment

Symantec Endpoint Security console.

Cause

This is working as designed. For performance reasons the results limit is set to 10,000.

Resolution

To review data past the time period 10,000 results shows, use the "filter by" to pinpoint the records to review. For example a timeframe can be entered.
